Clarysta Tells It Like It Is

o.O wouldn’t that be a cool title to have ingame? Hm…maybe “Be inspected 300 times and show the world your awesomeness.” Or just be a captain. Make it a class-based passive.
This week’s Tell the Community thread is all about captains. Which is only right and proper because, well, we’re awesome like that.
I thought I’d post my response here, just because, well, since I’m a captain, it must be awesome, yes?
Question 1
Give three examples of changes or improvements you would make to improve the Captain class (e.g. skills and abilities). Please limit your responses to 3 brief examples. Captains only please! Other classes will get their chance in coming weeks.
1. I would like to see more active buffing - I think the minstrels steal our thunder here with the ability to apply short term buffs for the group. Something skill based or skill combo based would be fun.
2. I would like to see more types of buff, and more situational buffs
3. I want to hit like I’m holding a 2hand weapon, and not like I’m holding a butter knife. Can we have our big DB devastates back please.
Question 2
If you could create one new legacy to add to the Captain’s Legendary Item pool, what would it be? Please specify whether you feel it should be a Pool A or Pool B legacy.
I am so done with legacies that if you offered me a free one I wouldn’t take it. If you want to do something, get rid of SotD cooldown and Grave Wound cooldown because I NEVER WANT TO SEE THOSE AGAIN.
Question 3
Thinking about set bonuses, what bonuses do you find most useful? Least useful? Please give 2 examples of each.
Most Useful
1. Really love the DN defeat event recovery - our best skills are gated by crit or defeat so this keeps me feeling like I have something to do
2. HoH is a good example of what a trait line should be. All the skills in that line relate to the role of healing, and all the set bonuses in that line relate to healing. Nice match up there, and makes it the only line I’d use.
Least Useful
1. Leader of Men is like the opposite of HoH. Looks like all the skills you couldn’t think what else to do got dropped in there. There’s no way I’d trait more than 2 deep in that line. The 2 trait Marks reset is really useful, and all I’d ever use.
2. Improved kick seems out of place - doesn’t seem like a useful bonus, I’d rather have it as -ew- a legacy, and replace that with an enhancement in power, range, or duration, to In Harm’s Way.
Disclaimer: I’m actually a very shy introvert and I do not think I am more awesome than you. And I’m a Lady of The 80s and actually can work the word awesome into any conversation. If you don’t believe me, I’ll break out a “rad” (not the gear!) “totally” or “fershure” to prove it. ;)
