My favorite skirmish? Well, I haven’t actually tried them all. Last night we tried a 3 man Barrowdowns and lasted only 8 minutes. Then went on to my actual favorite - Protectors of Whatchamacallit. I solo this one daily - I’ve discovered it’s a great way to collect the Black Badges for the repeatables quest.
But we couldn’t find one of the encounter mobs, and the boss wiped us so many times I think I have to sell my cat to pay the repair bill.
I like the skirmishes where I set the timing. Like Protectors, or Tuckborough, or the Battle in the Tower. Because I’m in control. Now, I do abuse that - I’m probably on page 50 something on the skirmish leader board because I’ll stop and do emails or forum posts while I’m skirmishing. For me, those kind of skirmishes are perfect. (Did you hear that, you silly elf chick? I’m in control - DO NOT run after the drake!)
The Barrowdowns? ugh. Although I bet I could beat it solo if solo was an option. 
Like I do the Protectors skirmish. Because I don’t set it to Tier 2 AND NOT TELL YOUR CAPTAIN, you goofs.
